One person is seriously injured in Trumbull County following a crash involving a scooter early Monday morning.
According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the crash happened shortly after midnight on Monday, March 16 on Flagg East Road in Bloomfield Township near State Route 45.
Troopers say 21-year-old Steven Byler was riding an electric scooter westbound on Flagg East Road when he lost control of it and crashed.
Byler was taken to the hospital for serious injuries. Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear at the time of the crash.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, but no OVI charges appear to be filed at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
