Farrell Dentist Asks Judge to Drop Drug Charges

A Farrell dentist asks for charges to be dismissed against her.

Dr. Tamara Lowe was charged last year with insurance fraud and one count each of fraud and conspiracy to acquire a controlled substance.

Officials said Dr. Lowe fraudulently called-in prescriptions for pain killers. Her lawyer says Lowe suffers from a chronic and painful disorder of the neuro-muscular system.

Now the dentist wants the charges thrown out saying she is the target of selective and vindictive prosecution by the state.

A hearing is set for January 3rd in the Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
