WILMINGTON, Ohio (AP) - Shipping company DHL says roughly 230 southwest Ohio employees will lose their jobs next year in its consulting, design and management services division.
DHL Solutions operates in Wilmington separately from DHL Express, but spokesman Jonathan Baker said Monday the layoffs are an indirect result of the company's other pending cutbacks. DHL plans to reduce its U.S. operations and move away from using Wilmington Air Park as its hub for moving packages by air, threatening 7,400 jobs.
The layoffs at DHL Solutions are expected to occur sometime between the first week of January and July 31, based on business circumstances.
