More than 250 Pennsylvania state government employees have worked their last day.

The layoff of the 255 employees was to be finalized Friday after Governor Ed Rendell announced the move earlier this week as part of budget cuts to deal with a multi-billion-dollar state revenue shortfall.

He warned of the possibility of more layoffs once a state budget gets final approval, but said these laid-off employees will be first in line if there are job opening in state government.
