YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- A hearing got underway Wednesday morning where a bankruptcy judge will listen to an objection from a local group looking to purchase Denman Tire.

GCA Tire filed an objection, asking for permission to buy the company outright, rather than selling it off piece-by-piece.

According to the filing, GCA claims it can pay $2.5 million for the business, which closed a plant in Leavittsburg and a warehouse in Austintown earlier this year.

More than 250 people lost their jobs as a result of the closures.
