YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- Parents and employees in the Youngstown city school district will get a better idea of what qualities a committee is looking for in its next superintendent next week.

A series of forums will be held on July 15 for stakeholders in the search, including teachers, administrators, parents and students.

Youngstown school board president Anthony Catale said in a news release that input from community members will be crucial to the search for a replacement for Wendy Webb, who will retire at the end of the year.

"We are asking stakeholders of the Youngstown city school district to help identify the major issues facing our district in the next three to five years, their expectations of a new superintendent and what personal and professional qualifications are important," Catale said.

The forums will be held at 1 p.m. for teachers, 2 p.m. for administrators, 3 p.m. for classified staff, 4 p.m. for the superintendent search committee, 4:45 p.m. for parents and students and 5:30 p.m. for members of the community.

The search is being conducted by the Youngstown city schools, along with the Ohio School Boards Association.

The deadline for applications is July 30 and they said they hope to have the next superintendent in place by the start of the school year.
