Ohio toddler calls 911 for dad thanks to SpongeBob
NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio (AP) - A three-year-old Ohio boy who summoned help for his injured father says he knew what to do from SpongeBob SquarePants.
Vincent Lamitie says he called 911 because that's what the cartoon character does. His parents say they never taught him about the emergency number because they figured he was too young.
Father Vince Lamitie tells Cleveland station WJW-TV he passed out on Sunday and fell down the basement stairs at the family's home in suburban North Ridgeville. When he came to, he was in pain and found his son leaning over him, talking on the phone.
Lamitie was hospitalized for a concussion and injuries to his back and ribs.
