Federal investigators accuse a Trumbull County man of using the Internet to scam people out of money.
According to the U.S. Attorneys Major Crimes Unit, Damian Hileman of Mineral Ridge put up Internet advertisements fraudulently claiming he could obtain new Social Security numbers for people.
The government also claims Hileman was behind another Internet scheme promising to obtain large sums of money from non profit organizations that would never have to be repaid.
Hileman allegedly netted about 37 thousand dollars from at least 14 people around the country.
