A company is recalling 105-ounce cans of pickled sliced beets sold to food service distributors in 18 states, including Ohio.

Wisconsin-based Lakeside Foods says some cans sold from December 2009 to January of this year may have been under-processed and may be contaminated with harmful organisms. Those include bacteria linked to botulism, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning that could cause general weakness, dizziness, double vision, difficulty breathing, constipation and trouble with speaking or swallowing.

There have been no reports of illness.
