YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio The oldest remaining public housing development in the country is going to be demolished.

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority got approval to tear down the 220 unit Westlake Terrace development. It's going to be replaced with 120 one, two, and three bedroom townhouses.

"We hope this is a spring board for private sector development in and around that neighborhood," said YMHA Executive Director, Clifford Scott.

One hundred and five people still live at Westlake Terrace. They'll be given Section 8 vouchers to relocate during demolition and construction.

Demolition is expected to begin within 90 days. Construction is slated for January 2012.
