BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Giving Closet, out of Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman, is trying to make prom less expensive for young teens.

Church members collected beautiful gowns, from short too long in a variety of styles and sizes.

The dresses are free for girls going to the prom who need a dress.

The three women who organized the Giving Closet say the dresses range from elegant to dazzling.

Wendy Kelso says the dresses were donated by church members and others because they wanted to be there for girls who can't afford to go to the prom.

Kelso added that they are also providing free alterations for the dresses as well.

There is also a selection of jewelry, purses, and shoes for prom night.

Another give away will be held April 14th from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. for girls from any school who needs a dress to attend prom.

Evangel Baptist Church is located at 5248 Southern Boulevard.

The dresses will be given out on first come first serve basis.
