AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - There will be a new place for kids to cool off in Austintown this summer.
The township park will open a specially designed splash pad for the warm weather. In order to conserve, the splash pad will use low water pressure.
"This has 16 sprinklers that cre coming out of the ground spraying water, and there are four above-the-ground feathers that are either dumping water or spraying water in to the air," says Todd Schaffer of Austintown Township Parks.
For safety purposes, the surface of the pad will be covered with a padded rubberized material. A ribbon cutting for the official opening is set for May 22 at 10 a.m.
