MERCER COUNTY, Pa. - Customers of two local credit unions unknowingly gave their account or debit card information to potential thieves. 

Mercer County Community and PennStar federal credit unions tell 21 News customers called them realizing they had been scammed.

Victims received phone calls, text messages and e-mails asking them to verify account numbers, debit card numbers and passwords.

The credit union wants customers to know they would never ask for personal information over the phone or e-mail because they already have them.
