Last suspect sentenced for deadly Niles home invasion

WARREN, Ohio - The last suspect charged in connection with a burglary plot that turned deadly for one of their alleged accomplices will join her conspirators in prison.
On Tuesday, 36-year-old Nichole Allen of Mineral Ridge was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated burglary and involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of her husband,Terry Allen.
Nichole Allen and three other people were originally charged with murder following the attempted burglary of a home on Niles Cortland Road in Niles last July.
The owner of the home fired a shotgun blast through the front door, killing Allen, who was one of the burglars.
The home owner was not charged. County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins cited previous case law that he says allowed the filing of murder charges against co-conspirators in a crime that turns deadly for one of the people involved.
The three other suspects have already pleaded guilty to the reduced charges of attempted burglary and involuntary manslaughter.
All have been sentenced to prison.
