YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The city of Youngstown has a new tool to help protect residents.

Mayor John McNally on Thursday, christened a brand new fire truck during a ceremony at fire station number two on Indianola Avenue.

Fire Chief John O'Neill tells 21 News that the city now has two 95-foot ladder trucks.

"It's a special unit we use for ventilation and rescue. It really increases and improves upon our ability to act on fires quickly", said O'Neill.

The new truck cost the city $890,000, and replaces a truck that had safety issues.
