LISBON, Ohio - A Salem area man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the bludgeoning death of a Columbiana County man.

Thirty-six-year-old Christopher Miller was sentenced Thursday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, where he was found guilty earlier of murder and aggravated murder.

Miller was arrested for the fatal beating of 34-year-old Matthew Bailey of Salem, whose body was found off Hartley Road in Butler Township in 2013.

This was Miller's second trial. A jury could not reach a unanimous verdict in the case earlier this year.

The judge ordered that the life without parole sentence be served in addition to a three year sentence handed up earlier to Miller for tampering with evidence.
