WARREN, Ohio - The Environmental Services Department has declared a tire disposal amnesty for the city of Warren.

City residents may drop off their old tires to be disposed of for free at the ESD offices.

The drop off location is on 613 Main Avenue S.W. in Warren.  The ESD urges program participants to use the office's South Park entrance.

Each household may dispose of five passenger tires at this location every month.

Participants must show Warren city proof of residence with a valid ID and a current utility bill showing name and address.

Drop off hours are from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The amnesty program was made possible due to a $35,000 grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

Tires will continue to be properly disposed of by Warren's ESD until the grant funds are exhausted.

Further, the EPA grant specifies that all cleanup activities occur on public property with the help of volunteers.  The Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and other volunteers will assist the city in cleanup.
