Potential project hopes to change housing conditions in Warren

WARREN, Ohio - Two Ohio companies collaborate their resources for a possible housing project in Warren.
Red House Projects, a design and build firm from Cleveland, and Longstride, a creative agency from Columbus, have donated their resources to propose a potential project to rid Warren of housing blight.
The proposed project will include the use of cargo shipping containers in the construction.
The goal of the project is to start development for new modern living that can accommodate lower price points for residents.
“This house, while quite unconventional in design and style, is very much in line with our strategic plans for revitalizing Warren's neighborhoods, and so long as the process for public support is successful we are in full support," said Executive Director of Trumbull Neighborhood Project, Matt Martin.
Red House Projects and Longstride have selected a resident of Warren, Jeff Sanders, to build a unique home.
“We couldn't have chosen a more deserving gentleman as Jeff Sanders and a community such as Warren for this project," said Edward Wiklinski, principal of Red House Projects.
Officials say Warren is an example of opportunity and a blank canvas upon which to rebuild hope and quality of living for the local residents.
