YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mill Creek MetroPark officials say that a ban on water related activities around three lakes does not apply to the sprinkler at one of the pavilions.

Park Community Engagement Director Samantha Villella tells 21 News that the sprinkler located near the Scholl Pavilion playground uses water from the City of Youngstown to cool off children in the summer.

The pavilion is located near Bears Den Road and Normandy Drive.

The park has suspended all activities including fishing, boating and kayaking in Lakes Newport, Glacier and Cohasset since Friday when high levels of E. coli were detected.

There is no word on when activities at the lake will be restored.
