A seventeen-year-old from Youngstown will face trial as an adult, even though he was only sixteen-years-old when he allegedly gunned down a man during a robbery.

The Mahoning County Grand Jury has handed up a six count indictment charging Stashawn Dates with murder, robbery, and assault.

Investigators say Dates fired the shot that struck Jesse Daviduk, 21, of Struthers last September on Youngstown's South Side.

Authorities say Dates fled the crime scene, but was later arrested.

Daviduk was hospitalized, and died later from a head wound.
