After five hours of deliberations, a jury in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court found a Cortland man guilty of raping a little girl as her mother slept.

Thirty-six-year old Frank Arcuri, III, was convicted of all four rape charges filed against him earlier this year.

The eight-year-old victim testified that when her mother passed out after a night of drinking this pas February, Arcuri came into her bedroom and molested her.

After the child told her mother about the incident, she sent the girl to school but later reported the incident to Bazetta Township Police.

Diane Barber, a Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor tells 21 News she credits the young victim with the guilty verdict, "I can credit the victim in this case almost 100% with the result we just saw in there today.  She was one brave little girl.  She got up on the stand and she answered every single question put to her by myself and by defense counsel."

Arcuri, who testified in his own defense, is expected to face life in prison when he is sentenced on October 21st.
