At least one man is dead and five others injured after a shooting outside of the Southern Tavern in Youngstown.

34-year-old Tony Brown, Junior of Youngstown died at the scene just after 11p.m. Monday after gunfire erupted here outside the Southern Tavern on Glenwood Avenue.

Five others were injured including the alleged shooter, Daniel Harris.

Two of those victims were in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

Chief of Detectives Brad Blackburn says investigators believe the shooting is a case of what he calls mistaken retaliation.

Police believe Harris approached Brown and a group of friends outside of the tavern and opened fire.

Three people were hit by the gunfire outside. Two people were struck by bullets inside the bar.

Detectives think Harris believe Brown was responsible for the shooting of death of his relative Thomas Owens on Saturday on West Myrtle Avenue.

Owens died from gunshot wounds that were fired into a car that Brown had been riding in.

Detectives say Brown was lucky to be alive after that incident. Investigators say it wouldn't make sense for Brown to set someone up to be killed and be in the same car with that person.

The alleged shooter in this case remains hospitalized from several gunshot wounds. He is expected to be charged with murder
