YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - As we get closer to the holiday travel season, drivers in nearly all Mahoning and Shenango Valley communities are seeing gasoline prices continue to drop here and elsewhere.

The Triple A Gas Gauge lists an average price of $1.93 per gallon in the Youngstown Warren area.

That’s about a dime higher than the Ohio average reported by the website gasbuddy.com.

Gasbuddy says the price for a gallon of regular gasoline in most places around the Valley has dropped a nickel or more over the previous four days.

The price of filling up your tank in Youngstown and Lisbon remains virtually unchanged, but both communities continue to offer the best local bargains at $1.79 and $1.77 respectively.

Drivers in Toledo are paying the lowest prices in the state. Gasbuddy.com lists prices there at $1.55.

Gas stations in Sharon, Pa. are trying to compete with gas prices that are as much as fifty cents per gallon lower just over the state line in Hubbard, Ohio where regular is selling for $1.87.

Prices in Sharon range from $1.99 on West Silver Street near the state line, to $2.39 along State Street.
