Is there a strategy to picking winning Lottery numbers?
With nearly 300-million number combinations, how do you pick the winning six?

BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - It's easy to imagine all the ways you could spend the Powerball Jackpot. But, as many know it's not as easy to pick those winning numbers.
With nearly 300-million number combinations, how do you pick the winning six?
It seems just about everyone has their lucky numbers. Some of the most popular combinations come from birthdays and anniversaries.
"These are the people I love, you know, and they're going to get me this money. I'm going to hit this thing. I've never played it, I've got to hit it." said Kenny Dubose of Youngstown.
Kathy Sawyers at Penn-Ohio Lottery in Brookfield says she's seen all kinds of strategies. Some strategies are more unusual than others.
"Probably the cigarette prices behind me and the ones on they get on the ceiling I can't see," said Sawyers.
Six year-old Alexis McCrimmon and her brother 9 year-old Eric McCrimmon helped their mom pick, what they hope is a winning ticket.
"I don't know if there was a strategy because I don't recognize some of these numbers," laughed Suzanne McCrimmon. "But, some of them were birthdays and some of them were just random."
One theory to increasing the odds of winning is to buy more tickets.
Douglas Ravenscraft plays Keno and turns the winnings into more Powerball tickets.
"If I hit a four spot for like $72 and then I can go over there on Powerball, that's a lot more tickets," said Ravenscraft.
But, if you ask Frank Brodie it only takes one ticket with the same number's he's been playing ever since they were printed out on accident.
"I hit it seven times. Four dollars, seven dollars, four dollars, one time I hit it for $12," said Brodie.
And, like so many, he's hoping that ticket he's holding is the key to the Powerball Jackpot.
