A Mercer County man was sentenced on Thursday for his part in the robbery and murder of a man at his Pine Township home in 2014.

Judge Christopher St. John sentenced Patrick McCamey, 40, to life in prison at the State Correctional Institution in Mercer, Pennsylvania.

In November, a jury in the Mercer County Common Pleas Court found McCamey guilty of second and third degree murder in connection with the robbery of Michael Anthony Johns, Sr. at his Irishtown Road home on September 28, 2014.

McCamey's accomplice, 24-year-old Ryan Bowers, confessed to state police that he and McCamey were attempting to rob the 60-year-old victim of money and marijuana when a scuffle ensued.

Bowers, who was convicted on similar charges in May, told police that Johns stopped moving after McCamey put him in a choke hold.

Both men are from Liberty Township in Mercer County.
