A Goshen Township man was arrested on his birthday after his girlfriend told police she found him passed out at home while her infant daughter had a can of beer “in her mouth.”

Aaron Nezbeth, who turned 27-years-old on Thursday, is charged with domestic violence and child endangering.

According to a report from Goshen Township Police, a 21-year-old woman returned from a basketball game early Thursday to find Nezbeth passed out and intoxicated inside the Pine Lake Road home they share.

Officers say the woman told them that her seven month old daughter was on the floor with a beer can, while her other 22 month old child was roaming the room.

The mom says when she shook Nezbeth to wake him up, he struck her in the face and pushed her as she held the 7-month-old in her arms.

When police arrived, one officer said he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

Police say when they told the mom that they planned to arrest Nezbeth, the woman indicated that she did not wish to press charges. One of the officers told her that it was not up to her at this point.

Nezbeth was booked into the Mahoning County jail awaiting a court hearing.
