Columbiana County fire investigators are looking for the cause of barn fire in East Palestine.

Fire Department Assistant Chief Rick Gorby tells 21 News that a passerby spotted the flames at around 10:30 p.m. Friday at a barn on Heck Road between Hoffmeister Road and Route 165.

Gorby says when crews arrived, flames had spread through most of the structure.

Fire departments from Negley, New Waterford and Springfield were also called out.

Nothing was being stored inside the barn.

Investigators are in the process of adding up the damage.

No one was injured fighting the fire.

Crews were on the scene for about three hours.

Some firefighters returned to the scene after daybreak Saturday to douse some hot spots that had rekindled.
