Youngstown State University officials say counseling services will be available to students and staff following the death of a student on campus.

YSU police have confirmed that Eric Stone of Newton Falls, a junior Electrical Engineering major, collapsed while playing basketball in the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Stone was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Eric had a 4.0 grade point average and was president of the YSU chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
