Since 1988, The Ohio State University Young Scholars program has helped students in Youngstown obtain a college diploma and graduate debt free.

This year seniors were recognized Tuesday evening.

Four seniors from Youngstown have earned a scholarship to Ohio State University.

Students must maintain a 3.3 GPA throughout the program, which begins in middle school.

“It's really an opportunity to go to a world class university where they'll have resources. They're supported and they'll graduate with no student loan debt. It's a springboard for whatever life they want to have,” said Rochelle Woods, Director of OSU Young Scholars Program.

The program will now welcome thirteen students from various schools in the district.
