Hospice of the Valley to host two grief camps in June

Losing a loved one is never easy for anyone, at any age. Each year, Hospice of the Valley reaches out to kids who are grieving. This year, Hospice House is hosting two grief camps. The first camp will take place on Thursday, June 23, at Roosevelt Park in Campbell. The second one-day camp will take place on Thursday, June 30, at Packard Park in Warren.
While at camp, kids will have the opportunity to remember their loved one through different activities. Campers will also be given gifts to help them heal.
"These kids get great support. They learn how to cope with others. They learn how to cope with the loss they've experienced and see other children that are perhaps in the same situation as them and feel comfort in that they are not the only one," bereavement counselor Kim Calhoun with Hospice of the Valley.
Grief camp is open to children between the ages of eight and 15. There is a short interview process that must be completed before children can attend. To register, call 330-549-5901 or 330-549-5850.
