A Warren man is arrested after police discover a suspected mobile meth lab near a dumpster outside his apartment complex.

Warren police say tips from neighbors lead them to scene, where a black and white backpack was found with a mix of suspicious materials inside.

A witness accused Keoni Walker of cooking up meth in the same room where two infants were sleeping in a unit inside 1208 Fifth Street SW at Hampshire Apartments.

"Two kids were just located inside the bedroom where they found the possible meth lab," Robert Massucci said, Warren police captain.
Walker was detained at the scene early Thursday morning, before he was charged with illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

Police called for two ambulances and the fire department after learning of potential meth making inside Walker's apartment.

At that point, police called for two ambulances, and the fire department.  Once the fire department arrived the children and three other people were taken out of the apartment and taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Suspected meth-making materials were also found inside a blue van parked in a driveway outside of the apartment building.

The fire department and the decontamination unit secured and cleared the scene inside the apartment and in the driveway.

Parents living in Hampshire Apartments tell 21 News that they were surprised about the discovery and concerned about the safety of the children who live and play in their neighborhood.
