CAMPBELL, Ohio - An Austintown man is free on $40,000 bond following a court appearance for his 16th OVI offense.

Campbell Police say David Black, 56, was arrested after he was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign on Jackson Street near Murray Avenue.

During the traffic stop, police say they saw an open beer can in the car's cup holder.

Police say Black had slurred speech, watery eyes and fumbled to retrieve his license and insurance information.

Reports say Black was unable to complete a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he was unable to complete.

Black is charged with OVI, having an open container and a stop sign violation.

He is scheduled to return to court next week.
