'Not guilty' verdict returned in Youngstown murder trial
A man who acted as his own attorney in a Youngstown murder case has been found not guilty by a jury in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A man who acted as his own attorney in a Youngstown murder case has been found not guilty by a jury in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Deliberations that began Monday afternoon ended after 1 pm Tuesday when the jury found 41-year-old Jermaine Bunn not guilty murder and not guilty of improperly discharging a firearm into a home.
The charges were filed in connection with the death of 30-year-old Michael Pete, who was shot in the chest on East Evergreen Avenue on April 3, 2016.
Pete died later in the hospital.
Bunn, who could have been sentenced to life in prison if he had been convicted, is not out of trouble since the jury did find him guilty of tampering with evidence and a weapon violation.
