PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities say a baby has died after falling from a fourth-floor window in a Pittsburgh building.

Police responded to the scene shortly before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. They say the year-old child fell about 35 feet and suffered undisclosed injuries.

The child was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later. His name has not been disclosed.

It's not clear what caused the child to fall or how many people were with him at the time.

The accident remains under investigation.
