PSP: Man accused of raping 15-year-old girl in Mercer County
A man is facing charges after being accused of raping a girl in a secluded area in New Vernon Township.

Mercer County, Pa. - A man is facing charges after being accused of raping a girl in a secluded area in New Vernon Township.
Pennsylvania State Police say 22-year-old Dalton Christopher McAfoose of Mercer is facing several rape charges after an incident on June 22.
Investigators found that McAfoose took the 15-year-old girl into a secluded location along the dirt road under the Interstate 79 overpass and forcibly raped and sexually assaulted the victim.
According to PSP, two days after the incident allegedly occurred, troopers found McAfoose's vehicle in Greenville.
Troopers say just before they arrived, McAfoose took off into a wooded area. A perimeter was set up by Greenville-West Salem PD and Hempfield Township PD. Searching officers found McAfoose and took him into custody.
Troopers say McAfoose is facing charges of rape, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, and indecent assault.
He is on a secured bond at the Mercer County Jail.
