Girard game and hobby shop taps into niche

GIRARD, Ohio - Three men in Girard have taken 3-D printing and laser cutting to a new realm. Some might even say "infinite realms."
The three started off making pieces like rock formations, oil pits, satellites, and selling them online.
It ended up doing well, so they decided to open their own shop; selling more than 100 different items they make.
For table tops games, like miniature wargames, Jeff Carney of Infinite Realms said the pieces help bring the battle to life.
Carney told 21 News, "Then these things help with the blocking the line of sight and giving you some height differences and just some things to really make the game a lot more fun to play."
Tapping into that imagination is something the creators of the company love to do, and perhaps that's why they call their game and hobby shop, Infinite Realms.
Carney said, "All of us like the gaming atmosphere so we decided to go ahead and create our own store in which we could bring that to others as well."
The shop also hosts tournaments and leagues.
"A lot of it is social interaction, coming out of your houses, turning off your video games," said Carney.
