AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - Fitch Falcon fans are getting a sky-high view of the brand-new turf installed on three fields at the high school.
SCG Fields has provided an aerial image of the recently-completed renovation of Falcon Stadium, Richard L. Coppola Field, and a new practice field.
Ground was broken on November 8th, 2017 on Austintown Fitch's new sports complex which features artificial grass on the school's football, baseball, and soccer fields.
The work on the fields was completed in April.
Synthetic turf was selected by the Austintown Fitch athletic department to avoid canceling practices and games due to volatile weather.
The three-field renovation is helping to brand Austintown Fitch as a host of choice for many regional, and state athletic events, according to SCG.
Richard L. Coppola Field is the only synthetic turf baseball field in the area.
"It's a showcase,” said Athletic Director Lewis VanHoose. “We are trying to bring baseball to the Valley. We've already played five games that no one else in the area could play due to poor weather conditions."
The renovation carried out by SCG Fields and synthetic turf manufacturer Act Global.
