A second member of the Youngstown State defense is out for the season after tearing his A-C-L earlier this week.

Kyle Hegedus, a junior safety from Lakewood St. Edward high school is done for 2018.

"He retore his A-C-L and is out for the year," said Penguin Coach Bo Pelini following Friday's practice, " he'll get another year for us, but it doesn't help us this year,"

As a sophomore in 2017, Hegedus played in all 11 games starting 10 at strong safety and was the teams third leading tackler.

"It's a bad break for him because he's a great kid , a good leader and great worker," Pelini continued.

Hegedus is the second defensive starter who's done for the season.  Defensive end Justus Reed tore his achilles during a workout in June.
