Work to make improvements on South Diamond Street (Route 58) in Mercer Borough is scheduled to begin today.

Crews will be upgrading sidewalks, curbs and curb ramps, new highway lighting, improved drainage, pavement markings, and landscaping.

The $371,471 project is being paid with federal funds. The work is expected to be completed by late November.

There are no vehicle detours anticipated with this project, but a pedestrian detour will be in place for the southern sidewalk of South Diamond Street.
