VIENNA TWP., Ohio - A Jefferson man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Vienna Township Friday night. 

Ohio State Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Edward Wickline, Jr. of Jefferson, Ohio was driving a motorcycle east on State Route 82 just after 8 p.m.

Troopers say at the same time, an 80-year-old woman from Niles was driving a Lincoln Town car heading west on State Route 82.

According to a press release, as both vehicles approached the intersection at Niles-Vienna Road, the driver of the Lincoln made a left-hand turn without yielding, causing the motorcycle to crash into the vehicle. 

Troopers say Wickline was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Wickline was wearing a helmet, troopers said.

Authorities say the woman suffered minor injuries. 

Officials say the portion of State Route 82 has been reopened.

The crash is being investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

No charges have been filed at this time.
