Grove City College security says a man attempted to break into a student housing facility on campus.

The incident occurred on Wednesday around 11 p.m. at Hicks Hall.

The university's website says the targeted residence hall has 174 occupants who are mostly male, first-year students.

According to police, the man used a piece of wire to try and get through the main doors of the hall.

They also later found damage to a screen on a cafeteria window, the report said.

The suspect was reported wearing a light red hoodie and backpack.
