YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into the Pizza Joe's on Canfield Road in Youngstown leaving a trail of blood in the store.

According to officials, 40-year-old Stephen Kosa turned himself into Youngstown police around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kosa was arrested on charges of safecracking, breaking and entering to commit felony/land premises of another and receiving stolen property.

Kosa is expected to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

The break-in happened in broad daylight Sunday morning after, who is no believed to be Kosa, attempted to break into the front door and then a window.

Kosa allegedly failed to get in through the front door after kicking out the glass at the Pizza Joe's on Canfield Road.  That's because metal bars on the door wouldn't allow him to get in.  So he used a jack from a car to break out one of the front windows on Sunday morning and crawled through it.

Pizza Joe's Owner, Justin Laskay said, "That's how he ended up cutting his hand or his leg or whatever, but it was right underneath our main window, right underneath our open sign."

The owners say Kosa left a blood trail from the window where he broke in, to the floor, then behind the counter, and then to the office and the back of the store where he stole the safe.

Store surveillance video captures who is thought to be Kosa trying to leave with the heavy safe.  He's wearing camouflage shorts and a gray hoody.  He first walks from behind the counter to the front door but realizes he can't get out.  He then walks back to the window where he walked in and leaves that way.

The other store owner, Deanna Dillon previously told  21 News, "I'm surprised he stayed as long as he did, yes.  The alarm is really loud.  At this point, we're hoping that somebody heard or seen something because of the time of the day it happened."

The break-in happened between 8:00 am and 8:15 am Sunday on Canfield Road.
