A group from Millwood, Inc., headquartered in Trumbull County, has returned from a mission to help victims of Hurricane Florence.
The group worked with Operation Blessing International in North Carolina for five days.
The group mainly worked on gutting homes top to bottom so contractors could come in and start rebuilding.
Regional Chaplain Coordinator Jody Jones said, "The lead from Operation Blessing remembered Millwood Cares team from our help in Texas after Hurricane Harvey. They were impressed with what we were able to accomplish there and looked forward to us helping out in North Carolina also."
When Millwood Cares arrived, there were 70 work orders across the state that Operation Blessing was responsible for. The Millwood team helped with four of those projects.
The Human Resources Administrator, Cassie Kovach, said she worked with a man in North Carolina that had his home destroyed, yet he helped Millwood with a friend's home.
Kovach added, "This trip made me realize that life is what you make it. Material possessions are nothing, Family, friends, and health are everything you need in this crazy world. It humbled me."
