A community discussion on immigration will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 12:30 pm in the Ohio Room of the Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.

The panel is sponsored by the YSU College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and will discuss the impact of national immigration policies and the effect it has on local communities.

The event is free and open to the public.

Pastor Manuel Lux of Iglesia Esperanza de Vida in Salem and Veronica Isabel Dahlberg, founding executive director of HOLA Ohio will be featured speakers at the event.

The community panel comes as a reaction to an incident at the Fresh Mark meat-packing plant in Salem, Ohio where nearly 150 people were arrested.  Those arrested were believed to be in the country illegally.
