A grocery chain with stores here in Valley is giving people a unique way to countdown to Christmas this year.

ALDI is offering a new twist on advent calendars. Instead of opening candy, adults can open a bottle of wine or sample a new cheese.

The calendars went on sale Wednesday, but interested shoppers may not want to wait. There's a limited quantity of calendars and a limit of one per customer.

The product contains two dozen mini bottles of wine from a variety of countries.

The calendar includes wines from Australia, Italy, South Africa, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, and the United States.

This isn't available everywhere, but according to a local circular appears to be available at a number of local ALDI locations for $79.99.

In addition to the wine advent calendar, ALDI is selling preferred cheese advent calendars for $12.99, with a limit of three per customer.
