A company that the Ohio Department of Commerce has licensed to grow medical marijuana in East Palestine has now been given the green light to process the marijuana as well.

Pure OH, LLC is one of the latest applicants to be granted a provisional license to turn raw marijuana into oils, tinctures, lotions, creams, capsules or other oral forms for medical treatment.

Last July the company was granted a provisional Level Two cultivator license to grow marijuana at Bacon Avenue and Kemple Drive in East Palestine.

The commerce department announced on Wednesday that it is still considering granting a processing license to Quest Wellness Ohio III LLC on Market Street in Boardman, pending further review.

Riviera Creek Holdings, which already has a license to cultivate medical marijuana at 1275 Crescent Street in Youngstown where owner Dan Kessler says he expects to harvest their first crop of in February.

Kessler's company is also seeking a license to process marijuana as well.
