SALEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The city of Salem will be closing roads on Wednesday in honor of Boardman police officer and Salem native, Heather Dobbins. 

Dobbins passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on January 12 after battling an illness. 

According to the Salem Police Departments Facebook page, residents can expect traffic delays beginning Wednesday at noon. 

Police say that Ohio Street between State Street and Pershing Street will be closed. Pershing Street between Ohio Street and South Lincoln Street will also be closed. 

The attached picture charts the funeral procession route that is scheduled to begin at 12:45 pm on Wednesday. 

Dobbin's funeral is scheduled on Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church. 

Dobbins served on the Boardman Police Department since 2003 and served with distinction for 16 years. 

Boardman PD stated, "Heather will be remembered for her dedication to the community, professionalism, and above all her kindness that she displayed on a daily basis. Please keep Heather and her family in your thoughts and prayers."
