YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - According to a police report, 25-year-old Nelson Clark attempted to hide a tied off baggie with OxyCodone pills and a ziplock baggie with additional unidentified pills in the backseat of a police cruiser on his way to jail Saturday night.

The incident started just after 8:00 p.m. when police saw a dark-colored Chevy Malibu ran a stop sign and then quickly turn into a driveway, almost hitting another car in the process.

Police say when they pulled into the driveway behind the vehicle a passenger, later identified as Clark, quickly opened the rear passenger door before pausing and closing it.

When police made contact with the driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Darius Dates, he admitted he doesn't have a drivers license and didn't even notice he almost hit another vehicle.

According to a police report, while collecting information from the two, Clark appeared to be visibly nervous.

The men were then removed from the car and searched. While police were patting Clark down they felt a hard ball between his legs which he told them was only "his d***."

According to a police report, while searching the car officers found a Ruger P95 9mm Luger tucked into the driver's seat magazine pocket.

Due to the location of the weapon it was determined by police that it was Clarks.

Dates was issued tickets for stop sign and no operators license and Clark was transported to the Mahoning County Jail.

While transporting Clark, police say they noticed him moving frequently and told him several times to stop moving and that if he had any contraband on him he could face additional charges.

According to a police report, when removing Clark from the cruiser he had a white powdery substance on his pants, on the seat, and on the floor by his feet. Police also noticed spit on the ground next to the powder, "as if he were attempting to wash it away."

After Clark was booked, police found a tied off baggie containing OxyCodone pills and a ziplock baggie of other unidentified pills in the hole where the seatbelt was secured directly beside where Clark's hands were.

Clark faces charges of tampering with evidence, possession of drugs/drug abuse, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and having weapons under disability.
