BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Brookfield Schools will re-open on Tuesday, Feb. 5 after dealing with flooding caused by water pipes breaking in the middle school.

Superintendent Velina Jo Taylor said the pipes broke around 5 am on Saturday, February 2 leaving damage to the hallways and classrooms.

Officials say the damage could have been caused by the frigid temperatures from the last few days.

A statement was released from the Brookfield Facebook page:

"Thanks to Disaster Recovery Services and our facilities and maintenance team members, we are making great progress to ensure Brookfield Local Schools will be safe and clean for students tomorrow."
