The founder of the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum in Howland passed away on Tuesday. Bill Griffin, 53, died after complications from diabetes, according to his obituary.

HOWLAND, Ohio - The founder of the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum in Howland passed away on Tuesday.
Bill Griffin, 53, died after complications from diabetes, according to his obituary.
Griffin founded the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum on North River Road and raised money for Valley charities through the yearly Wings-n-Wheels Fly-in and Car Show.
Griffin's son, Connor, shared a picture on Facebook that showed the day he flew his father to Beach City for the annual Father’s Day Fly-in in 2018.
"He flew me there countless times before, but this time he was my co-pilot in my own aircraft. He will always be my copilot. Blue skies and tailwinds Bill Griffin. I’m so proud to call you my old man," Connor wrote.
Calling hours and services are on Saturday, February 23.
The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum's Facebook page says that the museum will be closed February 23 through 24 in remembrance of Griffin.
